Description
Primary Information
Rhodochrosite is also known as Raspberry Spar, Manganese Spar, and Inca Rose (Rosa del Inca or Rosinca), because the Incas believed that Rhodochrosite was the blood of their forefathers converted to stone. It is the National Gemstone of Argentina, where some of the world’s most important deposits are mined, and the State Mineral of Colorado, where the Sweet Home Mine near Alma and surrounding localities produce some of the world’s rarest and most exquisite red Rhodochrosite.
Rhodochrosite’s attraction is evident, both in terms of its raspberry-pink to rose-red hue and the pulsating electrical energy of love it generates. While all pink stones promote unconditional love, Robert Simmons believes that Rhodochrosite emits one of the most gentle and loving energies of any stone, calming the heart, caressing the soul, and vibrating to the frequencies of inner peace in his book The Book of Stones. It’s a wonderful symbol of happiness and healing, of accepting one’s own powers and realizing one’s full potential.
Emotional Healing
Rhodochrosite, also known as the Stone of the Compassionate Heart, represents unselfish love, leading one beyond mere empathy to take action on behalf of others. Rhodochrosite, on the other hand, directs such love first and foremost toward oneself for the sake of emotional restoration. It enables one to evaluate old experiences with fresh information, and acknowledge and release suffering, as well as damaging patterns of behavior one may have acquired as a means of coping, by empowering one to analyze old wounds, suppressed feelings, and traumas of childhood or former incarnations. Its vibrations of self-love, forgiveness, and compassion for the child within help one rediscover the self they were born with.
