Pietersite was first discovered in 1964 in Windhoek, Namibia by Sid Peters, who named the stone after his late father Louis Peters. Mistakenly associated with Tiger’s Eye and Hawk’s Eye, Pietersite is neither, actually consisting of Chalcedony. It is highly regarded as “The Temptest Stone” or “Eagle’s Eye”, it is only located in Namibia and a few areas in China.
